Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, is located on the island of New Providence and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Caribbean. The city is known for its stunning pink sand beaches, clear blue waters and rich history and culture. Nassau's warm and pleasant climate makes it ideal for traveling year-round, attracting visitors from all over the world.
Nassau has a long history as a British colony and center of pirate activity. Visitors can soak up the atmosphere of the 18th century by visiting historical sites such as the Queen's Staircase, Fort Fincastle and the Pirate Museum. The local culture is a blend of West African, British and Caribbean elements, reflected in music, dance and festivals such as the famous Junkanoo Carnival.
Nassau's main attractions include the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island and Straw Market, offering diving, shopping and culinary experiences. The economy is dominated by tourism and finance, with luxury cruise ships regularly docking in the harbor. The city's infrastructure is excellent, but be aware of the effects of hurricane season. Nassau is an ideal starting point for exploring the Bahamas, combining natural beauty with urban energy.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
