Guangdong Southern District is not a separate country or administrative region, but usually refers to the southern part of Guangdong Province in China, covering the Pearl River Delta and the coastal cities in western Guangdong. The region has a well-developed economy and convenient transportation, and is an important part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Major cities include Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan and Dongguan, with manufacturing, technology and foreign trade as the pillar industries. The climate is subtropical monsoon, the language is predominantly Cantonese, and the culture combines traditional Lingnan characteristics with modern internationalization.
