Nalaikh is a city in the Central Province of Mongolia, located about 35 kilometers southeast of the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, and is one of Mongolia's major industrial and mining cities. The area is known for its rich coal resources and has historically been the core area for coal mining in Mongolia, with a number of coal mines and beneficiation plants. Nalaikha has a population of about 30,000, and most of its residents are workers in the mining and related industries.
