Located in the Horn of Africa and bordered by the Red Sea to the east, Eritrea is one of the youngest countries in Africa, having gained independence in 1993. The capital, Asmara, is the political and economic center of the country, at an altitude of more than 2,300 meters above sea level, and is famous for its unique colonial architecture, known as the "capital of African modernist architecture", which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017. The city's pleasant climate and clean streets are a blend of Italianate style and indigenous African features, making it a window into the country's multiculturalism. Eritrea's official languages are Tigrinya and Arabic, and its economy is based on agriculture, but in recent years it has been developing tourism.
Located in the Arctic Circle, about 20 kilometers from the city of Rovaniemi, Resjärvi (Rovaniemi) is a peaceful town in Finland's Lapland region, known for its pristine nature and unique outdoor experiences. Surrounded by dense coniferous forests and crystal-clear lakes, the town is ideal for hiking, fishing and watching the midnight sun in the summer, and transforms into an ice kingdom in the winter, offering activities such as dog sledding, aurora viewing and ice fishing. With a population of around 15,000, the locals are known for their friendliness and lifestyle in harmony with nature. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is an excellent destination for experiencing Finland's polar culture and the purity of nature, as well as being one of the most important places where the Sámi (Aboriginal) culture has been passed down.
