Naidong District is subordinate to Shannan City of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, and is the political, economic and cultural center of Shannan, located on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, with an average altitude of about 3,560 meters. As an important birthplace of Tibetan culture, Nai Dong has a deep historical heritage, and legend has it that the first Tibetan Zanpoche, Niechi Zanpoche, established the Tubo Dynasty here, which is known as the location of the "first piece of farmland in Tibet".

Naidong district is located in Tibet's first palace - Yongbrakang, built in the 2nd century BC, is a classic representative of Tibetan architecture.
