Naguavo is an important town in the northern part of Puerto Rico, located about 30 kilometers west of the capital city of San Juan, and is part of the Municipality of Naguavo. Situated on the Atlantic coast, it is known for its lush mountain and coastal scenery and is a transportation hub connecting the capital with the western region.
Naguavo has a tropical climate in the Caribbean, with a year-round warmth and humidity and an average temperature of about 26°C. The town is backed by the northern foothills of the Central Mountain Range, and is rich in natural ecological resources, with many rivers running through it and mangrove forests and sandy beaches along the coastline.
The economy is based on agriculture (coffee, fruits) and small-scale manufacturing, with a gradual development of tourism in recent years. Spanish colonial architecture remains, and traditional festivals such as "Fiestas Patronales" are held every year, combining elements of Taino Indian, African and Spanish cultures.
San Juan is easily accessible via Highway 2 and is surrounded by natural attractions such as the Ceiba Caves. Visitors can experience hiking, bird watching, or explore historic sites such as the 19th century Santa Rosalia Church.
