Murfreesboro, located in the northeastern part of Van Buren County, Arkansas, USA, is the county seat of the county with a population of about 1,700 (2020 data) and is a quiet historic town. Founded in the early 19th century and named after Thomas Murfree, an early colonist, the town retains its 19th-century architecture and rural flavor. Its economy is based on agriculture (poultry farming, soybean farming) and tourism, and its proximity to the Buffalo National River draws visitors to experience outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing. Diffa, the capital of the Diffa region in southeastern Niger, is located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert and shares a border with Nigeria, making it one of the most important border cities in Niger.
