Murehe is an important city in the west of Burundi, located on the north-eastern shore of Lake Tanganyika, which is a key transportation hub connecting the lake area and the interior of the country. As an integral part of Gitega Province, the city takes agriculture as its leading industry, and the surrounding area is rich in coffee, cotton, corn and other economic crops, which is an important node for the distribution and trade of Burundi's agricultural products. The climate of Murehe is warm and humid, with an average annual temperature of about 20-25℃, and the lakes, mountains, and rural scenery are reflected in the city, which has both natural ecology and humanistic atmosphere. Although the city is small in size, it plays an important role in local economic and social development by virtue of its geographical location and agricultural foundation, and is also one of the windows to understand the rural life in western Burundi.
