Mugamba is a town in Bururi Province in the south of Burundi, located near the country's border with Tanzania, situated in the highland area with an altitude of about 1,500 meters, with a mild and pleasant climate. As an important agricultural center in Bururi Province, local residents grow coffee, corn, beans and other crops for a living, and the agricultural products are transported to the capital city of Bujumbura and surrounding markets through simple roads. Mugamba retains the traditional Burundian village style, the local culture is a blend of Hutu and Tutsi customs, handicraft weaving and traditional music are still an important part of life. Despite relatively poor infrastructure, its unique geographical location and agricultural potential make it one of the important nodes of economic activity in southern Burundi.
