Mon Russei is a town in Battambang Province in western Cambodia, located about 30 kilometers south of Battambang City in a fertile plain area near the Tonle Sap Lake basin. The area is predominantly agricultural, with rice cultivation being the mainstay of the economy, while fruits such as mangoes and coconuts are produced in abundance. Mong Russe retains a traditional Khmer village atmosphere, with a slow pace of life and a simple culture.
Historically, Monrose has been influenced by the culture of the Khmer Empire, and the remains of small ancient temples can be seen around the area. The local people are mostly Buddhist, and the community has a quaint Buddhist temple where traditional ceremonies are often held during festivals. Due to its remote location, the area is less affected by modernization, making it an ideal place to experience Cambodian rural culture.
Monruse is connected to Battambang and Phnom Penh by Highway 5, which is easily accessible but has a simple infrastructure. The surrounding nature is beautiful, with rice paddies, rivers and small hills, making it suitable for eco-tourism. From here, tourists can travel to Tonle Sap Lake or Battambang's famous attractions such as the Bamboo Train and the Bat Cave.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
