Located in the central part of the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture in China's Yunnan Province, Muding County is a mountainous county characterized by Yi culture. Covering an area of about 1,464 square kilometers and with a population of about 200,000, the county is known for its rich ethnic traditions, natural landscapes and agricultural economy.
