Mookane is a border town in eastern Botswana, bordering South Africa and about 200 kilometers north of the capital, Gaboro. The town, with a population of around 5,000, has an economy based on agriculture and livestock, with the surrounding fertile land supporting the cultivation of crops such as maize and sorghum, while cattle breeding is also an important livelihood for local residents. As a small trade node between Botswana and South Africa, Moocane retains a simple rural appearance, with a savannah climate that gives it four distinct seasons of wet and dry, and an average annual temperature of around 20-30 degrees Celsius.
