Montgomery, Pennsylvania, United States, usually referred to as Montgomery County, is located in the northwest part of Philadelphia, part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area, and is one of the major population and economic centers in Pennsylvania. The county covers an area of approximately 1,262 square kilometers and has a 2020 population of approximately 850,000, making it the third largest county in Pennsylvania. Montgomery County is known for its diverse economic structure, encompassing manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and education industries, with several Fortune 500 company affiliates and renowned research institutions. Conveniently connected to Philadelphia and the nation via highways such as I-76 and I-276, the SEPTA public transportation system covers major areas.
