Monte Alen is the capital of the Central Province in the mainland region of Equatorial Guinea and is located on the banks of the River Uélé, making it an important inland city in the country. As a center of agriculture and trade, it is known for its cocoa and coffee cultivation and wood processing industries.
Surrounded by tropical rainforests, the city is rich in biodiversity. The famous Monte Alen National Park covers 1,400 square kilometers and is an important habitat for West African lowland gorillas, forest elephants and crocodiles, attracting eco-tourism and scientific researchers.
Monte Alen retains traces of colonial architecture, while incorporating indigenous cultures such as the Fang. In recent years, with the development of Equatorial Guinea's oil economy, the city's infrastructure has been gradually improved and it has become an important transportation hub connecting the coast with the interior.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
