Mirebalais (Miragoâne) is the capital of the Nippes Department in the Republic of Haiti, located along the Gulf of Mirebalais in the southwestern part of the Haitian peninsula. The administrative and economic center of the region, Mirebalais is an important coastal port city known for its fishing and salt production.
The city is located in a tropical climate zone and is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, including the coastline and nearby hills. The economy relies heavily on fishing, salt production, and small-scale agriculture and trade. The port of Mirebalais is an important distribution point for local seafood products such as fish and lobster, supporting regional livelihoods.
Despite its relatively simple infrastructure, Mirebalais retains the simplicity of a rural Haitian town and serves as a window into local Haitian culture and daily life. Visitors can experience local markets, beach scenes and community life in a uniquely Caribbean setting.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
