The economy is based on manufacturing, chemicals and food processing, while retaining a rich heritage of Soviet-era architecture. Culturally, there are historical museums and archaeological sites reflecting its development from ancient to modern times. Conveniently connected to major road and rail networks, it is an important hub for Azerbaijan's interior.
Located in the southwestern part of the Macau Peninsula, Fung Shun Tong District is one of the historical urban areas of Macau.
