Mindelo is the cultural capital and second largest city of the West African island nation of Cape Verde, located on the northwest coast of the island of São Vicente. Famous for its deep-water harbor and colonial architecture, the city is an important economic and cultural hub for Cape Verde.
Mindelo is strategically located on the Atlantic route and has a natural deep-water harbor. The city has a tropical desert climate, warm and dry all year round, with an average annual temperature of around 25°C. Its harbor is surrounded by volcanoes, creating a unique natural landscape.
As the birthplace of Cape Verdean music, Mindelo was the birthplace of the famous singer Cesaria Avella. The annual Bahia das Gatas music festival attracts visitors from all over the world. Colorful colonial architecture and local Creole culture blend to create a unique cityscape.
The economy is based on port logistics, fishing and tourism. Landmarks include the Palácio do Povo square and the lighthouse built in 1874. Visitors can experience traditional markets, beach activities, and sample the specialty seafood dish, Cachupa.
A charming town in northeastern Montenegro, located on the banks of the river Lim in the city center of Plav and surrounded by the Durmitor National Park and the Prokletije mountain range, Plav is known for its pristine natural beauty and outdoor experiences. The most famous attraction here is Biograd Lake, a crystal-clear lake surrounded by dense pine forests and mountain peaks, ideal for hiking, camping, and birdwatching. The summers are cool and pleasant, while the winters make it a potential ski resort due to snowfall.
