Located in the northern part of Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, at the northern foot of Tianshan Mountain and the southern edge of Junggar Basin, Midong District is a municipal district of Urumqi City, as well as an important industrial base and satellite city in Xinjiang.
