Mianxian County is located in the southwestern part of Shaanxi Province in China, belonging to Hanzhong City. It is situated at the western end of Hanzhong Basin south of the Qinling Mountains and north of the Bashan Mountains, and it is an important corridor connecting Guanzhong and Sichuan. With a total area of 2,406 square kilometers and a population of about 400,000, Mianxian is predominantly Han Chinese, and is known as the "Little Jiangnan of Northwest China".
Mianxian County, known as "Shinyang" in ancient times, has a history of more than 2,300 years and was a major military town of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. The Dingjun Mountain in Mianxian is the military base of Zhuge Liang's Northern Expedition, and the relics of the Three Kingdoms, such as the Wuhou Tomb and the Wuhou Shrine, have been listed as national key cultural relics protection units, attracting a large number of history and culture enthusiasts to come on pilgrimage every year.
The Han River and its tributaries run through the county, with over 60% of the area covered by forests, producing tea, Chinese herbs and other specialties. Natural landscapes such as Dingjun Mountain and Hot Spring Town are intermingled with historical relics to form unique cultural and tourism resources. Yangan Railway and Shitian Expressway run through the whole territory, with convenient transportation.
Based on agriculture, Mianxian focuses on the development of tourism, minerals (iron ore, phosphorus ore) and agricultural products processing industry. In recent years, Mianxian has been actively building the "Three Kingdoms Cultural City", promoting the transformation and upgrading of the county's economy through the integration of culture and tourism, and has been selected as one of the top 100 counties in the country in terms of county tourism development potential in 2022.
Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
