McLouth is a quiet town in Jefferson County, Kansas, United States, located about 30 miles northwest of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Founded in the late 19th century and named after early settler John McLouth, the town's history is closely tied to agriculture and railroad development.
Located in the hills of northeastern Kansas, McLouth, with a population of about 900, is a small community typical of the American Midwest. Known for its low crime rate, friendly neighborhoods, and rural lifestyle, the town's main economic pillars include agriculture, small businesses, and residents who commute to nearby cities.
The town is home to the McLouth Unified School District (USD 342), which contains educational facilities from kindergarten through 12th grade. A community center, parks, and annual events (such as the McLouth Day Celebration) provide residents with social and recreational venues that exemplify the close-knit community cohesion.
McLouth is connected to neighboring cities via Kansas Highway 16 (K-16) and is approximately 40 minutes from Topeka. Residents enjoy easy access to the medical, shopping and cultural amenities of the Kansas City metro area, while enjoying the serenity of the town's natural surroundings.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
