Mayumba is an important port city in the Gabonese Republic, located on the Atlantic coast in the western part of the country, and is the capital of Ntang Province. As the third largest city in Gabon, Mayumba is known for its deep-water harbor and fishing industry, and is one of the major maritime hubs in the West African region.
Located near the equator, Mayumba has a tropical rainforest climate that is hot and humid all year round. The economy is based on port logistics, timber export and fishing, with the largest fishing fleet in Gabon.
