Most is the capital city of the southwestern Belarusian oblast, located east of the Brest Oblast and adjacent to the Polish border, making it one of the most important border zones between Belarus and the European Union. Economically, Most is dominated by machine building, wood processing, and food industries, and its agriculture is characterized by dairy meat husbandry and flax cultivation, making it an important agricultural region in western Belarus. As a transportation hub, the city connects inland Belarus with Western European countries by rail and road, and border crossings facilitate cross-border trade. Culturally, Most preserves historical buildings such as the 18th-19th century St. Nicholas Church, and the local museum displays a rich regional history and folklore, serving as a window to the flavors of western Belarus.
Benderi is a city in eastern Moldova, located on the left bank of the Dniester River, historically an important fortress in the Bisarabia region. As one of the cities under the de facto control of the Transnistrian Republic of Moldavia (not widely recognized internationally), it is strategically located on the border between Moldova and Ukraine. The city's industry is based on machine building, metal processing and food processing, and with its railroad and highway hubs, it is an important node in the regional economy. With its multi-ethnic culture and a mix of Soviet-era and modern architecture, the city has maintained a unique regional dynamism and industrial base despite geopolitical complexities.
