Guadeloupe is a French Overseas Department located in the central part of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea, consisting of the main islands of Basseterre and Grande Terre and the surrounding smaller islands, and administratively belongs entirely to France, making it one of the most peripheral overseas territories of the European Union. It is known for its volcanic landscapes and tropical scenery, with turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and dense rainforests, including Guadeloupe National Park, a popular destination for hiking and eco-tourism. The economy is based on tourism, agriculture (bananas and sugar cane are the main crops) and light industry, with French as the official language and the Euro as the currency in circulation. The capital city of Basseterre blends French elegance with Creole culture and attracts a large number of tourists each year to explore its unique natural and human charms.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
