Located on the Black Sea coast in the southern part of Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula, about 8 kilometers from Yalta, Massandra is a seaside town known for its wine industry. With its pleasant climate, influenced by the warm currents of the Black Sea, and vineyards dotting the hillsides and valleys, it is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in Ukraine. The town's Massandra Winery, founded in 1889, is known as the "Wine Museum" with its huge underground cellars and a collection of more than one million bottles of rare wines, including Tsarist vintages from the late 19th century.
