Located in the mountainous west-central region of Honduras, Marcala is an important city in the department of Valle de Honduras, known for its pleasant climate and rich agricultural resources. As one of the core producing areas for Honduras' premium coffee, the beans are known for their rich flavor and distinctive fruity aroma, and are exported to international markets, supporting the mainstay of the local economy. Surrounded by mountains, dense forests and crystal clear streams, the city is an ecologically sound place that attracts eco-tourism enthusiasts.
