It should be noted that there is no official city in Russia named "Marx". There may be some confusion about the city of Engels (Энгельс), which is located in the Saratov Oblast, on the left bank of the Volga River, across the river from Saratov, and is one of the most important industrial cities in Russia, named in honor of Engels. If the name does refer to a place name associated with Marx, there is no direct equivalent in Russia, but some streets or squares may be named after Marx, such as the former "Karl Marx Street" in Moscow (now renamed). It is recommended that specific names be verified to avoid biased information.
Carlisle, the county seat of Cumberland County, is located in south-central Pennsylvania, USA, just 30 minutes from the state capital, Harrisburg. Founded in 1751, the town is steeped in history and was an important military stronghold during the American Revolutionary War, with Carlisle Barracks being one of the oldest active military installations of the U.S. Army. Carlisle is also known for Dickinson College, a private liberal arts college founded in 1773 that has produced many outstanding individuals. The town's economy is diverse, encompassing education, healthcare, manufacturing and agriculture, and the rich surrounding farmland is known for its quality produce. The Carlisle Historic District preserves a large number of 18th- and 19th-century buildings, such as the Old Courthouse and St. John's Church, which appeal to history buffs. At the same time, its proximity to the Appalachian Mountains provides residents and visitors with an abundance of opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing, making it a small town that blends history, culture and nature.
