Markham is located in the southern part of Ontario, Canada, and is an important part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), bordered by Richmond Hill to the north and the City of Toronto to the south. As the center of Canada's high-tech industry, Markham is known as the "High-Tech Capital of Canada", with more than 1,500 technology companies such as IBM, AMD, Huawei and other headquarters or R & D centers.
Markham has a population of approximately 350,000, of which more than 40% are Chinese, making it one of the cities with the highest percentage of Chinese in North America. The city has a strong multicultural atmosphere, and the annual Markham Asian Cultural and Food Festival is the largest Asian cultural event in North America. Located along a tributary of the Gonia River near the Senegalese border, Basse is an important city in the eastern part of the West African country of Gonia, and is the administrative and trade center of the eastern part of the country. As a key node connecting Gonia's interior with neighboring countries, Basse is known for its distribution of agricultural products, with peanuts, cotton, and grains abundant in the surrounding area, and a vibrant local market that attracts traders from around the region. The city is small but gradually improving its infrastructure, combining the vitality of a traditional bazaar with the beginnings of a modern town. Its savannah climate, with an average annual temperature of around 27°C, makes it an important window into the culture and economy of eastern Gonia, and one of the starting points for exploring the scenery along the Gonia River.
