Marinaleda, located in the province of Seville in the Andalusian region of Spain, is a village known worldwide as a "happy town". Under the impetus of Mayor Juan Manuel Sánchez Godoy, the village has implemented collective land ownership, free housing policies and democratic community decision-making, and its residents have achieved economic autonomy through cooperative agriculture, with a very low unemployment rate.
