Mardan is an important city in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, located about 50 kilometers east of Peshawar on the fertile Mardan Plains, and is one of the economic and cultural centers of the region. The third most populous city in Pukhtunkhwa, Mardan is predominantly agricultural, producing wheat, sugarcane and cotton, and is also a hub for small-scale industries and handicrafts, known for its traditional furniture and pottery. Historically an important post on the ancient Silk Road, Mardan incorporates influences from the Pashtun culture and boasts rich folk traditions and cuisine, such as local specialties like kebabs and milk tea. The city is well connected to Peshawar and Islamabad and is an important gateway for exploring the northern region of Pakistan.
Arba Minch, the capital of the Southern Region of Ethiopia, is located in the southern part of the Rift Valley and is known as the "City of the South". This small city is surrounded by mountains and water, bordered by Lake Abaya in the north and Lake Chamo in the south, forming a unique "gateway to the lakes" between the two lakes, which is an important window for viewing African wildlife. The surrounding Omo National Park is known for its pristine tribal culture and rich biodiversity, attracting tourists from all over the world. As the economic center of the region, Arba Mench is based on agriculture and fisheries, but in recent years, tourism has grown rapidly, making it a must-visit destination for exploring the nature and people of southwestern Ethiopia.
