Located in the southeastern part of Qinghai Province and the eastern part of Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Maqin County is the core hinterland of the Sanjiangyuan National Park and an important ecological barrier at the source of the Yellow River. With an average altitude of more than 4,000 meters, it is home to the Animaqing Snow Mountain, one of the four sacred mountains in Tibet, where snow-capped glaciers are intertwined with vast grasslands, giving rise to rich plateau flora and fauna resources. As an important birthplace of Gesar culture, the rich Tibetan flavor of Maqin and Tibetan Buddhist culture blend, Laga Temple and other ancient temples carry a deep historical heritage. Local animal husbandry is the main industry, yak, Tibetan sheep and other specialty livestock products of excellent quality. Because of its pristine natural ecology, unique cultural charm and pure plateau scenery, Maqin has become an excellent destination for exploring the secret of the Tibetan Plateau.
Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
