Manyas is a town in the province of Balıkesir in northwestern Turkey, located in the Sea of Marmara region, known for its rich natural ecology and history. The town's most famous attraction is the Manyas Bird Paradise National Park (Manyas Kuş Cenneti Milli Parkı), an important wetland reserve that attracts hundreds of species of migratory birds every year and is known as a mecca for birdwatchers.
The history of Manyas dates back to the ancient Greek and Roman periods, with ancient ruins remaining in the surrounding area. The local economy is based on agriculture, animal husbandry and tourism, with olives, fruits and other agricultural products.
