Mandeville, the capital of Manchester County in central Jamaica, is located in the heart of Jamaica, at an altitude of about 610 meters above sea level, making it one of the few high-altitude cities in the Caribbean. It has a pleasantly cool climate, with an average annual temperature of about 23°C, in contrast to the heat of other coastal cities in Jamaica, and is therefore known as the "capital of the center". As the economic and cultural center of Manchester County, Mandeville is dominated by agriculture (e.g., coffee, potatoes) and light industry, and is also an important educational hub, with institutions such as the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus Division. The city blends British colonial architecture with Caribbean flavor and is surrounded by an abundance of natural attractions, such as limestone caves and waterfalls, that appeal to travelers looking for tranquility and adventure.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
