Manatee County is located along the Gulf Coast in the western part of the U.S. state of Florida and is an important tourist and agricultural region of the state. Founded in 1855, the county takes its name from the manatee species common in the area. With a total area of 2,312 square kilometers and a population of about 400,000, the capital is Bradenton.
The county is known for its warm climate, sandy beaches and natural beauty, and is home to popular vacation destinations such as Anna Maria Island. The economy is based on tourism, agriculture (such as citrus farming), and manufacturing. Culturally, Manatee County focuses on ecological preservation with the Manatee Conservation Center and maintains rich historical sites such as DeSoto National Memorial Park.

Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan.
