Located in Pinal County, Arizona, USA, about 112 kilometers north of Tucson, Mammoth is a town known for its mining history and natural beauty. Founded in the late 1800s, the town sprang up as a result of nearby copper mining and still retains a distinctive look from its pioneer days in the West. Surrounded by the Tucca Spruce State Forest and the Coronado National Forest, Mamers has an abundance of outdoor resources, making it an ideal destination for hikers, campers, birdwatchers, and off-road enthusiasts. During the winter months, the nearby Maliwapi Mountain Ski Resort attracts many visitors, and in the summer months, the cool, high-altitude climate makes it a summer vacation destination. Despite its sparse population, Mammoth offers a different side of Arizona from the desert image with its simple people and magnificent natural beauty.
Maputo is the capital and largest city of Mozambique, located in the south of the country, bordering the Gulf of Maputo in the Indian Ocean.
