Malanje is the capital of Malanje Province in Angola, located in the central-eastern part of the country in the highlands, at an altitude of about 1,100 meters above sea level, with a mild climate and an average annual temperature of about 22 ℃. The city is located in an important agricultural area of Angola, and the surrounding area is rich in cotton, coffee, peanuts and other crops, and is the regional economic and trade center. Historically, Malanje was an important town during the Portuguese colonial period and retains some of its colonial buildings, such as the São Domingo Church. The city is surrounded by the famous Kalandula Falls, the second largest waterfall in Africa, which attracts tourists. Diffa, the capital of the Diffa region in southeastern Niger, is located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert and shares a border with Nigeria, making it one of the most important border cities in Niger. The city is culturally diverse, with Hausa, Tuareg and Kanuri ethnic groups living in the area, and is unique in its crafts such as traditional leather weaving and silversmithing.
