Located in the southern part of Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province and bordering Vietnam, Maguan County is one of the important border counties in southwest China. It is famous for being the place where the Treaty of Shimonoseki was signed in 1895, and carries a deep imprint of modern Chinese history. The beautiful mountains and rivers in the county and the subtropical monsoon climate have given birth to rich natural resources, and the county is rich in Panax ginseng and other local medicinal materials, and is known as the "Hometown of Panax ginseng in China". At the same time, Ma Guan is a multi-ethnic settlement, where the cultures of Zhuang, Miao and other ethnic minorities mingle, and traditional festivals such as the "Flower Mountain Festival" are unique. As an important node on the Sino-Vietnamese border, with active border trade and rich customs flavor, it is a unique place to experience Yunnan's diversified culture and border charm.
Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
