Located in the eastern part of Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, China, Macun is an administrative area under the jurisdiction of Macun District, Jiaozuo City. The area is located at the junction of the North China Plain and the southern foothills of the Taihang Mountains, with a temperate monsoon climate and four distinct seasons. As an important industrial and agricultural component of Jiaozuo City, Macun has coal resource mining, machinery manufacturing and grain cultivation as its main economic pillars.
Macun has a long history and is surrounded by several Yangshao culture sites. Modern transportation is convenient, with the Jinxin Expressway and Jiaohui Highway running through the whole area, about 15 kilometers away from Jiaozuo Railway Station, and a well-covered public transportation network in the area, connecting the center of Jiaozuo City with the surrounding counties and cities.
In recent years, Macun has continued to promote industrial transformation, actively cultivating logistics and warehousing and modern agriculture while developing traditional industries. There are Macun Industrial Cluster and several modernized agricultural demonstration zones in the area, and the residents are predominantly Han Chinese, with the dialect belonging to the Central Plains official language. The area is being integrated into the overall development plan of Jiaozuo City, gradually realizing integrated urban and rural construction.
