Macouria is a municipality in the French overseas department of French Guiana, located on the Atlantic coast in northeastern South America. As a territory of France within the European Union, it has a special administrative status and is one of the westernmost overseas territories of the Union.
Macuria is located in a tropical rainforest climate zone, rich in biodiversity and surrounded by the Amazon rainforest. The region is known for its pristine natural beauty, including mangroves, tropical rivers and unspoiled beaches, making it an important destination for ecotourism and scientific research.
The local economy is dominated by fishing, forestry and gradually developing ecotourism. Macuria also indirectly benefits from space-related industries due to French Guiana's ownership of the European Space Launch Center (Kourou Space Center). The culture is a blend of Creole, Indian and French characteristics, resulting in unique food, music and festival traditions.
Macouria can be reached via a network of roads from Cayenne, the capital of French Guiana, and wildlife such as jaguars and sea turtles can be observed in the surrounding nature reserves. The famous Maroni River and pristine beaches offer visitors eco-experiences such as rafting and bird watching, making it a hidden paradise for adventure travelers.
Nadzab is a major town in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea, about 40 kilometers northwest of Lae, at the entrance to the Markham Valley, a key link between the Highlands and the coast. A World War II heritage site, Nadzab was once an important Allied airbase, and today its Nadzab Airport is the second largest in Morobe province, carrying domestic flights and helping to export local agricultural products such as coffee and cocoa. Surrounded by a tropical rainforest climate and an economy based on agriculture and air logistics, Nadzab is an important transit point for trade between the interior and the coast of PNG, and is characterized by a combination of natural ecology and historical and cultural attractions.
