Macocora is a coastal city in Angola's Benguela Province, located on the Atlantic Ocean coast, and is one of the most important ports and trade centers in western Angola. The city is well known for its fishing resources, and the surrounding waters are rich in a wide variety of fish species, which provide an important support to the local economy. Makokola has relatively easy access to maritime transportation, connecting it to the rest of the country and to some international routes, making it a key node for the flow of goods in southwestern Angola.
