Machala is the capital of El Oro Province in the southwestern part of Ecuador, located on the Pacific coast, about 150 kilometers from Guayaquil. As an important port and commercial center of the country, Machala is famous for its banana exports and is known as the "Banana Capital of the World", and its economy also relies on fishing and agriculture. The city has a hot and humid climate, a population of around 250,000, and is rich in cultural heritage and natural landscapes, such as the nearby Jaramijo Beach and Mangrove Reserve.
