Mabian Yi Autonomous County is located in the south of Leshan City, Sichuan Province, China, in the Xiaoliangshan Mountain area, which is one of the important birthplaces of Yi culture. The county covers an area of 2,383 square kilometers, with predominantly mountainous terrain, significant differences in elevation, forest coverage of over 60%, and the Dafengding National Nature Reserve. 2023 resident population is about 220,000, of which the Yi ethnic group accounts for 47%.
Mabian is an important phosphorus chemical base in western China, with phosphorus mine, tea and bamboo shoots as its leading industries. The "Mabian Green Tea" has been certified as a national geographical indication, and specialties such as Yi family bacon and ecological kiwi fruit are famous all over the world. In recent years, it has been developing eco-tourism based on national culture (non-heritage programs such as Yi Year and Ayi Meigue) and natural landscape (10,000 acres of azaleas in Huanglianshan Mountain and Manao Miaozhai), and by 2022, the tourism revenue will exceed 1.5 billion yuan.
The Mabian branch line of Renmuxin Expressway has been opened to traffic in 2020, shortening the driving time from downtown Leshan to 1.5 hours. As a national key county for rural revitalization, it is accelerating projects such as wind power generation and Yi and Chinese bilingual education demonstration, and is committed to building a regional central city in the Greater and Lesser Liangshan Mountains.
Radža is a quiet town in western North Macedonia, nestled in the southern foothills of the Šar Mountains, about 120 kilometers from the capital, Skopje. The town is known for its well-preserved Ottoman-era architecture and traditional Balkan flavor, with the old town's stone paths, wooden houses and quaint mosques speaking of its long history. Surrounded by dense forests and crystal clear mountain springs, it is an ideal destination for hiking and eco-tourism, especially in summer. The local people still practice handicrafts and traditional folklore, and the annual "Raja Cultural Festival" attracts many visitors to experience the authentic rural life of Northern Macedonia.
