Located in the southeastern part of Shaanxi Province in China, Luonan County is part of Shangluo City and is situated at the southern foot of the eastern section of the Qinling Mountains, making it the southeastern gateway from Shaanxi to central and eastern China. With a total area of 2,830 square kilometers and a population of about 450,000, it has a warm-temperate semi-humid climate with four distinct seasons.
Luonan is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization, with historical legacies such as the legend of Cangjie's creation of characters and the Yangshao cultural site. It is rich in mineral resources and is known as the "Molybdenum Capital of China", and is also rich in agricultural products such as walnuts and Chinese herbs.
