Located in the central part of Yilan County, Taiwan, China, Luodong Township is the most densely populated industrial and commercial town in Yilan County. The town has a total area of about 11.34 square kilometers and is located in the southeastern part of the Lanyang Plain, about 60 kilometers from Taipei City. The Luodong River and the Dongshan River run through the whole area, forming a unique alluvial fan terrain.
The Luodong Night Market is one of the most representative sightseeing night markets in Taiwan, famous for such delicacies as mutton soup, baoxin vermicelli dumplings and three-star scallion pancakes. The town has important cultural and recreational facilities such as the Luodong Forestry Culture Park and the Luodong Sports Park, which have completely preserved the history of forestry development during the Japanese colonial period. As the transportation hub of Yilan County, Luodong Railway Station is an important node of the Northern Return Railway, connecting the transportation arteries of Taipei and Hualien.
With an average annual temperature of about 22°C and a humid, rainy climate, the town's agriculture is dominated by rice, vegetable and fruit cultivation. Modern industries, on the other hand, include commerce, services and tourism as the pillars of the economy, attracting a large number of tourists from home and abroad to visit the town every year.
Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
