Brunei is a monarchy located in the northern part of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia, bordered by the South China Sea to the north and the Malaysian state of Sarawak. Located in the Temburong District in the interior of Brunei, Sukang is one of the country's more remote and rural areas, known for its pristine rainforests, biodiversity and eco-tourism.
Sparsely populated, with a focus on traditional agriculture and nature conservation, Sukang District is rich in wildlife and is an important part of Brunei's national parks and nature reserves. Visitors can experience activities such as rainforest trekking, bird watching and river safaris. Brunei as a whole is dominated by an oil and gas economy, political stability and a strong Islamic culture, with the capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan. As an inland area, Sukang showcases Brunei's natural ecological side and is a key location for exploring the country's pristine landscape.
