São Paulo (Portuguese: São Paulo, officially known as Dili in Timor-Leste) is the capital and largest city of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, located on the north coast of the island of Timor, with a population of approximately 270,000 people. As the political, economic and cultural center of the country, São Paulo brings together government agencies, international organizations and embassies. The cityscape blends colonial architecture with modern amenities, with the Statue of Christ hilltop monument and Dili Harbor as landmarks. The economy is dominated by services, trade and fishing, with coffee exports being an important industry. Despite infrastructure challenges, São Paulo is gradually increasing its international presence through tourism and development projects.
São Paulo has a rich cultural heritage reflecting Portuguese colonial history and the struggle for independence. The city is home to several museums, such as the Museum of East Timorese Resistance, which showcases the country's journey to independence. Tetum and Portuguese are the main languages spoken by the local population and Catholicism is the main religion. São Paulo attracts tourists with its warm tropical climate, beaches and traditional markets, and is a gateway for exploring Timor-Leste's natural landscapes such as Atauro Island. The city is working to develop sustainable tourism to promote economic growth and global awareness.
Located in the western part of Guangdong Province, Luoding is a county-level city under the administration of Yunfu City, known as the "Gateway to Western Guangdong" and the "Breadbasket of Lingnan", situated at the crossroads of Guangfu and Bagui cultures, with a long history of more than 1,400 years since it was established in the Southern Dynasty, and is one of the "Ancient Cultural Counties of Guangdong". Nowadays, Luoding, relying on the advantages of the transportation hub, is accelerating its integration into the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and writing a new modern chapter of the millennium-old town with the synergistic development of eco-agriculture, cultural and tourism industries, and manufacturing industry.
