Longfeng District is a major municipal district under the jurisdiction of Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, located in the central part of the Songnen Plain and in the eastern part of Daqing City. As an important oil-producing area of Daqing Oilfield, Longfeng District is an important petroleum and petrochemical base in China, with rich oil resources and a well-developed energy industry chain. With a total area of about 4,100 square kilometers and a population of about 600,000, the region enjoys a temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinct seasons.
The economy of Longfeng District is dominated by petroleum extraction, refining and chemical industries, with a number of important secondary units of Daqing Oilfield Company located here. At the same time, the area is rich in agricultural resources, producing corn, soybeans and other crops, and the development of animal husbandry is relatively mature. The region has convenient transportation, with the Binzhou Railway and the G10 Suiman Expressway passing through the area, and is about 30 kilometers from Daqing Saltu Airport.
As an important carrying area of Daqing's "petroleum culture", Longfeng District has a number of petroleum industry sites and commemorative facilities. In recent years, Longfeng District has been actively promoting the transformation and upgrading of industries. While developing the traditional energy industry, Longfeng District has been focusing on fostering new industries such as new materials and equipment manufacturing, and has been building itself into an important economic growth pole and an ecological and livable urban area in Daqing.
