Located in the northeastern part of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan Province of China, Liugui is a famous mountainous township situated at the junction of the Yushan Mountain Range and the Central Mountain Range, and is known for its rich natural landscape and hot spring resources. The Laonong River runs through the area, giving rise to magnificent canyons, waterfalls and virgin forests such as the Eighteen Lohan Mountains and the Baolai Hot Spring area, making it a popular destination for eco-tourism and outdoor activities.
The area is rich in fruits such as mango and lotus fog, and has a well-developed agricultural economy, while retaining a strong Hakka culture and aboriginal traditions. Liugui has promoted tourism in recent years, combining leisure activities such as hot springs, hiking and rafting to attract many tourists to experience Taiwan's natural beauty.
Same, the capital of Timor-Leste's Ainaro District, is located about 50 kilometers south of the capital, Dili, in the mountainous interior and is an important agricultural and transportation hub for the country. It is known for its coffee farming, surrounded by terraced fields that produce Timor-Leste's premium Arabica coffee beans. Historically, Samu was an important stronghold during Timor-Leste's War of Independence, and remnants of the resistance movement still remain in the area, attracting history buffs to explore. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty and close to Mount Ramelau, Timor-Leste's highest peak, making it a stopover for hiking enthusiasts. A blend of traditional Timacu culture and modern townscape, Samu offers a unique look at the interior of Timor-Leste.
