Located in the northern part of Pingtung County, Taiwan Province of China, Linluo is one of the townships with the highest percentage of Hakka settlements in Taiwan. It is bordered by Neipu Township to the east and Changzhi Township to the west, with a total area of 16.26 square kilometers and a population of about 11,000 people. The name Linluo originated from the phonetic translation of the Pingpu tribe's "Linluo" community. Linluo Village was established during the Japanese colonial period and was changed to Linluo Township in 1946.
Linluo's main industry is agriculture, producing cash crops such as lotus fog, bananas and betel nuts, among which "Linluo Lotus Fog" is famous for its high quality throughout Taiwan. In terms of transportation, Taiwan Line 1 runs through the whole area, and it takes about 15 minutes to drive from Pingtung City and 40 minutes to drive from Kaohsiung City.
Important facilities in Linluo include the Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park, the Experimental Forestry Farm of the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, and the Linluo Bicycle and Railroad Park, the only railroad-themed sports park in Taiwan.
