Linghai City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province of China, administered by Jinzhou City. It is located in the southwestern part of Liaoning Province, at the eastern end of the western Liaozhi Corridor, bordering the Bohai Sea to the east, with a total area of about 2,547 square kilometers. The city has a population of about 600,000, mainly Han Chinese, and Manchu, Hui and other ethnic minorities live in the city. The city has a long history, with human activities as early as the Neolithic era, and is one of the important cultural and economic centers in western Liaoning.
Located in the Bohai Economic Circle, Linghai City has a flat terrain and a temperate monsoon climate with four distinct seasons and an average annual temperature of about 9°C.
