Liling City is located in the eastern part of Hunan Province, China. It is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Zhuzhou City, located at the border of Hunan-Ganxi, and is known as the "Gateway to Eastern Hunan". The city is famous for its ceramics industry, is an important ceramics production and export base in China, and is known as the "Famous City of Chinese Ceramics History and Culture". Liling ceramics are known worldwide for their exquisite craftsmanship and unique style, especially the underglaze colorful porcelain is highly respected.
In addition to ceramic culture, Liling is also rich in natural and cultural landscapes, such as the Bryan River Academy, Xianyue Mountain and the former residence of Li Lisan, a red tourist attraction. The local economy is dominated by ceramics manufacturing, along with agriculture, tourism and light industry, and is conveniently connected to major cities such as Changsha and Nanchang via a network of high-speed railways and highways. Shenchi County is located in the northwestern part of China's Shanxi Province, under Xinzhou City, in the eastern part of the Loess Plateau, with an average altitude of about 1,500 meters. With agriculture as its leading industry, the county is rich in oat, caraway and small grains, and is an important ecological agricultural demonstration area in Shanxi. Shenchi County has a temperate continental climate with four distinct seasons and cool summers, and is known as the "Cool City of Shanxi".
Shenchi has a long history, with the ruins of the Ancient Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty and a number of cultural relics protection units. The local folk culture is rich, preserving intangible cultural heritages such as traditional rice-planting songs and Taoist songs from the northern part of the Jin Dynasty. Shenchi mooncake and houma oil are famous specialties, especially the Shenchi mooncake making technique is listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage list.
Shenchi County relies on ecological resources to develop rural tourism, and the main attractions include Longquan Temple, Longyuan Temple and other ancient buildings, as well as the natural landscape of primitive secondary forests. In recent years, it has actively promoted the new energy industry and built wind power generation projects to promote economic diversification. In terms of transportation, the Linghe Expressway passes through the county, and it is about 100 kilometers away from downtown Xinzhou City.
